Holiday Taxis was the pioneer of the pre-booked overseas transfer. It was set up in 2002 in order to meet the burgeoning demand for customers to be able to quickly and effectively pre-book transfers from overseas airports to their hotels, timeshares or private accommodation. Since those early days working exclusively as a Mediterranean specialist, the company has evolved into the market leader and now arranges transfers in over 70 countries worldwide and has transported millions of customers over the past 8 years.

Holiday Taxis were awarded the prestigious 'Innovation in Travel' award sponsored by Accenture in recognition of its innovative approach and successful delivery of the service.

Overseas Suppliers

Holiday Taxis work with the best and most experienced overseas handling companies and suppliers since it is vital to have a contact in each destination to manage our transfer company partners and to ensure that all bookings have been received and arranged long before the plane ever arrives. Our management team have all worked in senior positions within many of the UK's leading travel companies for the last 15 years.

Sophisticated Technology

Holiday Taxis has had to build its reservation, email and billing systems from scratch since no purpose built systems have previously been available. For example once a travel agent or customer makes a booking on the site an email is automatically sent to our in resort handling agent and the booking added to the confirmation file. Once the agent has confirmed the booking via email or within the admin section of the site then, the booking is transferred to the booked section. However, if for any reason the booking is not confirmed it is flagged to one of our UK administration team who will follow this up immediately. Simply put, there is no way your booking can get lost!

Other areas of automation have been put in place from confirmation emails, to sophisticated commission and invoicing structures for Travel Agents. Holiday Taxis incredibly low prices are completely dependent upon this sophisticated back office set up and give us complete confidence that we will never be beaten on service or price.

Management Team

Managing Director - Peter Hilton

Peter has been involved in the running of Holiday Taxis from day one. Formerly the Finance Director, Peter was appointed Managing Director in March 2010. Peter remains committed to the principles that the business was founded on which is to be the best and most innovative service provider in the sector at the best possible price.

Peter has over 15 years experience of working in the Travel Sector. Qualified as an accountant in 1996 Peter immediately joined Virgin Holidays as Overseas Financial controller, Peter increased his responsibility at Virgin to include Commercial controller of Virgin Sun before leaving in 2000 to join GE Capital in a senior financial role. At the same time Peter co-founded a web development Company, Click with Technology CWT), specialising in the Travel Sector. Leaving GE in 2001 after the Company was sold, Peter became Managing Director of CWT on a full time basis.

Peter joined the Board of Holiday Taxis at its formation in 2002 as Finance Director, gradually becoming more involved in the business as it grew, Peter joined Holiday Taxis full time in 2008.

 

Chairman - Brendan M Breslin

Born in Glasgow and educated at St. Aloysius College. Moved in 1959 with his parents to Malta where he attended The Royal Naval School, Tal Handaq. Entered RMA Sandhurst in 1964 but decided on a change of career (having also failed to make the grade as a professional cricketer or golfer!) and joined the Ministry of Defence in London in 1965.

Served in Singapore for 3 years from 1968 and then seconded to the Foreign Office in 1975 to serve at NATO HQ in Brussels where he was a UK Representative and Chairman of the NATO Infrastructure Review Committee. Returned to London in 1979 as Head of NATO Communications Policy and in 1981 became Secretary of the Defence Signals Board. Posted to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1985 as Counsellor and also accredited to ASEAN (Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia and the Philippines). He served there until 1993 when he left Government Service to become a partner in PT Multiperdana Intiguna an industrial group based in Jakarta, Indonesia involved with Coconut Production, Coffee Plantations, Tuna Fishing as well as being an executive advisory service for overseas companies including BAe.

In 1998 moved to Ireland to further develop PT Multiperdana’s business interests in Europe. In 2001 founded with his partners an internet based company, E-Travelbase Ltd. Of which he was Chairman until it was sold in late 2002.

In 2002 he and his partners provided the financial investment for Airport to Hotel Group Ltd. (HolidayTaxis.com).

In 2003 his company, Universal Golf Consulting Ltd., purchased the lease of The Ring of Kerry Golf & Country Club developing it into a major course in the South of Ireland. This was subsequently sold in 2008.

Interested in all forms of sport but particularly Golf, Cricket, Rugby and Soccer. A lifelong supporter of Celtic and Portsmouth FC.

 

Non Executive Director - Sir Colin Chandler

Sir Colin joined easyJet plc in April 2002 and was appointed Chairman in 2002 until 2009, after which he joined HolidayTaxis.com as a Non-Executive Director.

Until November 2004, he was Non-Executive Deputy Chairman of Smiths Group plc, having been a Non-Executive Director of TI Group since 1992. Sir Colin has been variously Managing Director, Chief Executive and then Chairman of Vickers plc. Earlier in his career Sir Colin was seconded from British Aerospace to the role of Head of Defence Export Services, Ministry of Defence.

Sir Colin was Chairman of Racal Electronics plc. He is also Chairman of TI Automotive Limited, Chairman of Automotive Technik Limited, Non-Executive Chairman of Clarity Commerce Solutions plc and Pro-Chancellor of Cranfield University. He was knighted in June 1988 for services to export.

 

Non Executive Director - Trevor Harding

Trevor joined the board of Holiday Taxis in January 2008 and after 30 years in the travel industry is widely known and respected. Trevor is the former Publisher, managing Director and now Lifetime President of leading industry publication the Travel Weekly.

Trevor began his travel industry career in 1978 when he became publisher of Travel Trade Gazette. In 1989 he joined Reed Travel Group, heading up publications such as Travel News , Executive Travel and Gazetteers.com. Two years later, he was responsible for re-launching Travel News as Travel Weekly and was the publication's publisher until September 2007.

As well as the President of the Institute of Travel and Tourism (ITT), Trevor has served as chairman of the Pacific Asia Travel Association UK Chapter and President of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Travel Industry Group.

 

Sales & Marketing Director - Ian Coyle

Ian Coyle joined the Holiday Taxis team in January 2010 as our Sales & Marketing Director, with responsibilities for our UK and Irish markets.

With over 20 years pedigree in the UK Travel Industry, Ian’s former positions include a 10 year tenure (1997 – 2006) at Holiday Autos as Sales, then Commercial Director, moving into Lastminute.com upon the purchase of the car rental company by the online retail giant.

Between 2007 – 2009, Ian was a part of the Leadership teams that launched 2 new companies into the UK Travel Trade, allowing customers to easily pre-book quality holiday hotels and attraction tickets around the world.

Delighted to have the opportunity to join the success story that is Holiday Taxis when the opportunity arose, Ian was appointed to the Board of Holiday Taxis in April 2010.

Ian’s mission statement: To ensure the Sales & Marketing teams within Holiday Taxis provide world class and unrivalled service levels and support to all of our customers.

 

Purchasing Director - Kathryn Lyon

Kathryn joined the Holiday Taxis team in 2003 as Contracts Manager and has subsequently been nominated Purchasing Director.

Kathryn has a long pedigree in the travel industry which includes spending over 20 years working overseas in various capacities for UK tour operators. Prior to joining Holiday Taxis she was Head of Overseas for First Choice Ski.

Her responsibilities include ensuring her team obtain the best possible rates in relation to excellent service throughout the Holiday Taxis portfolio of quickly expanding destinations. Kathryn also holds responsibility for the highly successful Tailor Made team.

 

Director of International Sales & Marketing - David Henderson

David Henderson heads up International Sales & Marketing. He has successfully launched Holiday Taxis in the German market and is now focussed on driving new revenues from Scandinavia, Russia and the rest of Europe.

Henderson is a seasoned Business Executive with 20 years of extensive technology, management and global negotiations experience.

As VP Sales EMEA from 2000 to 2007, he spearheaded the launch of several start-ups selling both Direct and via Systems Integrator partnerships with IBM, EDS, HP and BT.

The majority of this time was spent driving significant revenues from Enterprise Software to the Global Banking community, Govt & Defence initiatives, Tier 1 Telcos, ISPs and the Broadcast Media industry.

During the 90’s, David spent 9 years at C&W as Director of Global Accounts managing the international relationships for the Finance Sector across the group. He spent most of the 80’s working for multiple tour operators overseas with a 2 year spell as Area Sales Manager for Wardair Canada.

 

IT Director - Steve Dean

Steve has over 15 years experience in IT and joined the Holiday Taxis team as IT Director in 2007. Steve started developing estimating systems for the construction industry before moving on to become lead developer for several colleges across the South-East. In 2002, Steve founded and built Where2Guv, the UK taxi reservation system.

Steve and his team of developers and designers are responsible for all Holiday Taxis web sites along with various white-labels and XML web services.
